This 5-Nights or 3 x Weekends Course is the first major RYA Yachting Qualification - no prior experience is required, and many come along as a learn-to-sail holiday, or to gain the required miles for the RYA Day Skipper certificate.   Everyone will be involved in steering, sailing and much more. Each night is spent at a different island or marina.    £99 refundable deposit reserves your place on-board.

The RYA Day Skipper course is also a 5 Days/Nights, or 3 x Weekends is conducted on-board a cruising yacht, and teaches yachting to the standard required to take charge of a cruising yacht with family or friends - accepted by insurance companies, it can also be used to hire or 'charter' bareboat and flotilla yachts worldwide.   It can also be Commercially Endorsed.

This Combo-Course Package takes you from zero prior experience, to full RYA Day Skipper (Coastal/Tidal) level, holding the Day Skipper Photo-I.D. Licence with I.C.C. Eligibility for chartering yachts worldwide. The aim of the RYA Coastal Skipper course is to teach the skills and techniques required to skipper a cruising yacht safely on coastal and offshore passages by day and night - the next level up from the Day Skipper.   It is a 5-Days/Nights Course - and like the RYA Competent Crew and Day Skipper courses, they run every week.

Challenge Scale:

Minimum age: 18 years.

There is no RYA-set specific syllabus for Yachtmaster® preparation courses however, RYA Training Centres may offer their own preparation course with a Yachtmaster® Instructor, and can arrange RYA/MCA exams for you upon request.
