5 Day Advanced PowerBoat Pro Course Check-In
Hi All,
Please read ALL of this important message, and reply ASAP to acknowledge receipt and your attendance:
1). You're due to arrive for your booked space(s) on the Extended Pro Advanced Training Course, as per the date on your e-mail booking confirmation, at Largs Yacht Haven, KA30 8EZ.
Things to bring:
1a). 3 x Passport Photos
2a). Money for lunches/foods at cafe or packed foods
3a). Trainers / Non-Marking Soled Shoes
4a). Outdoor jacket, Sunglasses
5a). Your course books / materials
6a). All forms and paperwork with your details pre-completed was far as possible
Supplied:
1b). Course Pack of Learning Materials;
2b). All Safety Equipment / Lifejackets;
3b). Training Vessel, All Fuel, Safety Gear & 1/2 Instructors, All Insurance & Fuel;
4b). Use of vessel for RYA/MCA Exam inc all Fuel & Insurance;
5b). Examiner Booking Service.
Stuff To Remember:
1c). Free secure parking - press intercom at barrier for entry:
2c). Doors' open about 10 minutes prior to start of day 1
3c). All crew will be asked to sign-in and provide any relevant medical info
4c). Each course runs with max 3 students per Instructor
2). Check-In time starts with doors open from precisely 0855hrs on the day of arrival.
The office will be in use up until exactly this time for other courses, debriefing and VHF Radio Licence exams.
3). ScotSail office is in the Main courtyard, to the right hand side of The Bosuns’ Table restaurant and conservatory.
4). If you’re going to be late please TEXT your name and ETA and we’ll let the office know to leave later arrival instructions for you at the centre office door, your RYA Instructors' name & telephone number.
5). If you're driving there is free secure parking for the duration - please go to the barrier at the car park, press intercom and let them know your name and that your with ScotSail and they'll let you through. There is no need to go into Marina Reception after parking.
6). PLEASE remember to have checked out all your course details, forms using the links and / or paperwork supplied AND important related info, FAQs, links to info, student guidelines and pre course recommended experience in your booking email, as well as on the website, RYA website AND in your booking emails, and all of the joining info and FAQs in the linked specification document.
7). It's really important that you read and understand all of this before arriving to help you get the best from your experience. This course is a high level commercial skippering prep course for a RYA/MCA Certificate of Competence that will allow you to take on significant responsibilities in a commercial context: you are expected to take a very high level of personal responsibility in terms of preparedness, pre-attendance research and self-study in advance of your attendance. It is strongly advised that you do not leave the forms, course materials and the reading thoroughly all of the printed and email materials and associated links to 'the last minute'.
Remember, for the RYA/MCA Exam you need a First Aid and VHF Licence. To add a Commercial Endorsement you also need a ML5 Medical, Sea Survival and PPR Course.

8). If you have any outstanding balance payments due they MUST be paid right away - balances are due 28 days prior to your start-date. This is a popular course and places are limited to strictly first-come, first-serve, and max 3 per course.
